Guild Policy: Officers and members alike will be subject to ALL of the below.

Attendance:
75%. With our four night raid week, this requires you to show up three out of four nights to maintain your raid spot in good standing with the guild. With the exception of extreme cases, that will be left to Council discretion, failure to comply with this will disqualify you from loot consideration against members who have exemplary attendance.

Punctuality:
Regardless of seniority, attendance and other factors that you may believe make you special, failure to be on, in the instance, and ready to pull at 8pm forfeits your raid spot for the night. You will still get attendance credit for being late and remaining on bench but you will not be brought in unless the raid needs you due to another equivalent player leaving early. We've decided to allow a 10 minute grace period for people at Member rank who post on the leave of absence forums in advance because sometimes real life does happen – but in the event of this, it is that member's responsibility to make it to the raid themselves so that the raid doesn't have to stop altogether just for them. Absurd, raid wide abuse of the grace period will cause it to be lost for everyone. I'm stating this in advance so that if you act like first graders, you don't complain that I'm treating you like first graders when it's taken away. This is for people who might get out of school or work a bit late on a certain day but can still make it home in a reasonable time for raid – not us pushing back raid start to 8:10.

Sobriety:
Don't misunderstand – I'm not straight edge or anything, I just don't want people who are sloppy drunk screwing up my raids. If you come home at the end of the day and have a couple, I don't care if you can still play. I do have to insist that you keep it to yourself, however, because when Johnny the Alcoholic gets booted for auto-running into Satan himself while we're in the middle of something, I don't want to hear “But you let other people drink!” So it's a simple rule. If someone's smashed, we can tell, we'll break their legs and send them home. If you had a couple to relax, I don't hate you, just keep it to yourself.

Loot:
88 uses a loot council system with the stipulation that officers with a vested interest in the item have zero say in where it goes. When an item is put up in the raid warning, interested parties should link the item they currently have in slot in /o (members will be able to write in officer but not read and this will be turned on only during raids) and from there, taking how terrible your piece is into account with many other factors, they will decide who receives the item in question.

Vanity Items:
88 has a very simple policy on vanity items such as the Twilight Drake, mounts to come and other rewards that future content may bring that have no impact on gameplay.

  • A member must have been on the roster and in good standing for one month

  • Currently you must have maintained at least 70% attendance, though with Ulduar content the bar will be lifted to 75%, for the last month (the 70% standard for the Twilight Drake will remain for that particular item).

  • Does not currently have a vanity drop awarded by an 88 raid (in situations where all members who meet rolling requirements do not meet this stipulation, it will be waved)

If you meet these standards, you will be able to roll and hate everyone who beats you or, if you're lucky, have everyone hate YOU!

Probation Rank:
Not only will all applicants be subject to this but members, even long time ones, and even officers can also find themselves at this rank. People at this rank will be on a “Three Strikes and You're Out” system. Ways that a member can find themselves at this rank are:

  • Consistently showing up to raid without proper enchants/food.

  • Sub-50% attendance for the last month without a very good reason.

  • Letting personal drama spill over into gchat/role specific channels/vent during a raid or guild activity (taking it to a separate channel in any situation other than a raid is, however, acceptable). This isn't to say that you cannot air a grievance with the people you have one against or to officers or even the GM – This is to say that there is a time and a place for everything.

  • Constant bad attitude. No one wants to suffer someone who only queues up vent to bitch. Suggestions in whispers or when I ask for questions and comments (something new members may not have seen yet and won't until new content as, if you're coming in at the end of a tier, we have solid, working strats on everything or we wouldn't be clearing) are fine.

  • Disrespect to the people who run this guild: I mean outright, “FUCK YOU!” disrespect. Trust me, the officers and GM put up with more and do more to keep this going than you understand. Even if you absolutely, 100% disagree with something, you bring the problem to them with the respect they deserve.
